MIT Museum @ FAB26

The MIT Museum looks forward to co-hosting FAB26, the 22nd annual Fab Lab Conference & Symposium. This global gathering of makers, educators, artists, researchers, innovators, and community leaders will feel right at home in the MIT Museum, where all are welcome to participate in MIT's unique culture of problem solving and playful creativity.

The MIT Museum is committed to fostering creativity, collaboration, and public engagement with science, technology, and design. Throughout the conference week, participants will engage in discussions, workshops, and experiences that reflect the spirit of experimentation, making, and collaboration that defines both the Fab Lab movement and the MIT Museum. All FAB26 ticket
holders are welcome to explore the MIT Museum exhibitions free of charge, July 27–31. The Museum will be a venue for several workshops, talks, and a reception to celebrate the Academany graduates.

Aligned with The Fab Foundation, the MIT Museum invites individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels to explore and innovate. From laser-engraved woodblock prints to 3D-printed jewelry, the Museum’s Adult Workshops foster experiential and collaborative learning. The
Maker Hub, open to visitors seven days a week and welcoming over 10,000 visitors per year, offers an entry point to engage with emerging technologies through activities from 3D-printing to fabricating bioplastics. The After Dark Series, a monthly adults-only event, invites visitors to explore the galleries after-hours, offering demonstrations, workshops, tastings, and more.

In September 2026, the Museum will launch a thematic focus on OCEANS, an ambitious six-month program of exhibitions, installations, research projects, and events; diving into our planet’s vast oceans and connecting art, architecture, design, science, and technology to reveal mysteries of the deep. This thematic focus will launch in conjunction with the inaugural MIT Future Fest.
