TRAVELING TO THE UNITED STATES

Use this guide to determine whether you need a visa to travel to the United States to attend FAB26 in Boston/Cambridge, Massachusetts. We strongly recommend reviewing U.S. entry requirements well in advance, as visa processing times can vary and regulations may change. 1. Coming from a Visa Waiver Program (VWP) country? If you are a citizen of a country that participates in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP), you do not need a visa for short-term travel (up to 90 days) for tourism or business purposes. However, you must apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before traveling.

Typical VWP countries include most of the European Union, as well as Australia, Japan, South Korea, Chile, Singapore, and others.

2. Coming from a country outside the Visa Waiver Program? If your country is not part of the Visa Waiver Program, you will need a U.S. visa to attend FAB26. Most participants will apply for a:

• B-1 (Business Visitor) visa, or
• B-2 (Tourist Visitor) visa, depending on your circumstances

FAB26 is a non-profit, educational event, and attendance does not involve paid work in the U.S.
